Awareness-raising only goes so far – when you have the facts, then it’s time to act! On this webpage, WEDO consolidates actions we are currently taking to advocate for better policies, plans, funds and institutions. Plans sometimes change quickly to respond to urgent shifts in policy spheres, so if you’re looking for something specific, don’t hesitate to contact us!
Stay tuned – a GEAR Campaign action link coming soon!
The Gender Equality Architecture Reform (GEAR) Campaign – founded and co-coordinated by WEDO and the Center for Women’s Global Leadership (CWGL) since 2006 – has been advocating for a new, strong, unified gender entity under the United Nations system. The new entity, with predictable and substantial funding, as well as operational capacity at the country level, could truly improve the lives of women around the world.
Stay tuned – we will soon publish our “WEDO at the UNFCCC – 2010″ series to showcase our continued work in the climate change negotiation process!

At least for now, WEDO is headquartered in the United States – and we can’t ignore that this is a nation predominantly responsible for the causes of climate change. We feel a responsibility to do something, so we are working with women’s organizations, grassroots groups, the US State Department and other government agencies to ensure that the US is an engaged, responsible, just leader in the fight against climate change – and that domestic policies and global positions are gender responsive.

WEDO remains committed to addressing gender inequalities both triggered and exacerbated by corporate malfeasance. However, we’re working on re-vamping MisFortune500.org – so stay tuned!
