Green Climate Fund Board Gets Down to Business
GENEVA, SWITZERLAND (August 23, 2012)— After months of deliberation on the composition of the Green Climate Fund Board, today was the start of its first meeting, which will last through Saturday, August 25, 2012. During these three meeting days, the board has a full agenda, including deciding which country will host the Fund. Celebration of Women’s Leadership at Rio+20
[ June 20, 2012; 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. ] This celebration will be in memory of Marie Khan of the CBD Secretariat. We will award 10 women leaders for their leadership roles over the last 10 years. Awardees will represent diverse regions as well as levels of engagement, bringing voices together from the grassroots and highest national and international political levels. Invitees – The celebration will bring together over 100 “friends” of the co-hosts and award recipients, including high-level gender stewards and media representatives. This event will showcase successes achieved under the GGCA umbrella as well as bilateral cooperation through the Governments of Finland, Iceland, and South Africa, demonstrating best practice examples and strategies for successfully integrating gender perspective into international and national-level actions on climate change.

New York, July 20th, 2011– The Adaptation Fund was established by the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to finance concrete adaptation projects and programmes in developing countries that are Parties to the Kyoto Protocol.
