Training
As a member of the GGCA, one aspect of WEDO’s work is around building capacity at all levels to design and implement gender-responsive climate change policies, strategies and programmes. The GGCA developed a Training Manual on Gender and Climate Change focused on the Bail Action Plan building blocks of mitigation, adaptation, technology, and finance. In 2008, a global Training of Trainers was held prior to the UN Climate Change Conference in Poznań, Poland (UNFCCC COP-14). Also prior to the Poznań meeting, the GGCA held an Orientation on Gender and Climate Change for government delegates to the UNFCCC, in which 50 delegates from diverse regions participated. Trainings continued throughout 2009 and 2010, with WEDO delivering our most recent training in Vietnam in April 2010 in partnership with UNIFEM.

New York- WEDO’s Rachel Harris presented GGCA’s advocacy team assessment of the latest update of gender in the climate change negotiations in 4 workshops on gender and climate change in Mexico City.
