WIDE-Globalizing for Gender Equality is WEDO’s main GEAR Campaign partner in Europe. WIDE collaborates with WEDO to build support for GEAR within the European Union. WIDE is based in Belgium but works with networks and organizations across Europe.
WEDO has been a longtime partner of Ubuntu in their Reform International Institutions campaign and are looking forward to Ubuntu’s Fourth Plenary Meeting of the World Forum of Civil Society Networks on 30-31 May 2009 in Barcelona, Spain. Sevdalina Voynova, “Overview of Strategies Applied in Bulgaria”
Sevdalina Voynova gave an overview of strategies applied in Bulgaria to increase women’s participation and representation. Her paper highlighted the increase in women’s political participation—up to 20 percent representation in Parliament—but cautions there is still much work to be done to achieve gender balance in decision-making.
