Enhancing Engagement of Civil Society within the UNFCCC Process

New York — At the COP15 in Copenhagen, civil society participation in the UNFCCC process was severely limited by a great lack of transparency and organizational preparation. Many organizations, including WEDO and the other members of the Women and Gender Constituency called out for a review of the process to ensure that these mistakes will not be repeated in the future.

Women and Gender Constituency Active at Bonn Climate Negotiations

Bonn, Germany — WEDO has been an active participant at the UNFCCC climate negotiations in Bonn, Germany throughout this week: attending an array of meetings and events, meeting with delegates, speaking with the press, delivering interventions and working closely in coordination with other members of the Women and Gender Constituency to the UNFCCC.

Bonn, June 9, 2010 — The Women and Gender Consituency at the UNFCCC has been hard at work during the Bonn negotiations, advocating for the rights of women and ensuring that gender is mainstreamed throughout the negotiating text.     A Gender Just Climate Regime: What’s at stake in Bonn?
