New York, March 1 — WEDO has produced a short document providing a gender perspective on the outcomes of the December 2009 UNFCCC global climate negotiations in Copenhagen. The document briefly describes the process leading up to COP-15, the meeting itself, the outcome documents and the way forward in 2010. WEDO will continue its advocacy work throughout this year to ensure a gender-responsive global climate framework.

New York, February 24 — The outcome of the Copenhagen climate negotiations resulted in “Draft decisions presented to the Conference of the Parties at its fifteenth session for consideration and adoption”. WEDO has compiled all of the women and gender equality texts included in that outcome, as well as some related text that is not specific to women or gender equality.

New York, January 5 — Maria Otero, the U.S. Under Secretary of State for Democracy and Global Affairs, discusses women and climate change in a short video available on YouTube. In her December 10 statement she notes that women are part of the solution to climate change and references a meeting she had with NGOs, including WEDO, during the UNFCCC COP15 in Copenhagen in December.
